    • Planning and siting: Our team of professionals has been working with the renewable energy sector since the late 1990's. Our extensive experience working across western Canada through virtually every sector allows us to adapt innovative techniques to reduce environmental impacts while providing cost saving measures to our clients. We can effectively introduce minimal disturbance techniques that reduce reclamation costs. Regarding wildlife we have successfully completed post construction monitoring programs for wind farms and understand the true cost of improper siting of turbines. Placement of turbines in the wrong location can result in significant mitigation costs including long term monitoring as well as costly measures such as cut in speeds. We can successfully identify the potential risks for each project and work with our clients to reduce the cost and environmental impact of these risks.
    • Environmental Assessments: We are experienced in all required environmental field assessments necessary to meet regulatory requirements for prospective wind farms. Our team has extensive experience working with wildlife, soils, vegetation, wetlands, and historical resources across western Canada.
    • Wildlife: Environmental management of birds and bats within Alberta has become a challenge for wind energy. Our team is qualified to complete all wildlife survey techniques, identify wildlife population issues and propose economical and effective mitigation measures. Our team has experience working with Species At Risk, bats, birds, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals. With appropriate planning it is possible to avoid costly mitigation measures for many wind farms. we have experience working on wind farms in some of the most challenging environments with multiple wildlife species of concern. Our team is confident we can provide unparalleled ability to identify issues during the assessment process and make appropriate recommendations to minimize long term costs to projects.
    • Vegetation: Sometimes the habitat and vegetation surrounding a project can be the reason for significant challenges with wildlife populations. Carefully planned projects require high quality vegetation assessments to ensure there are no risks that will result from the vegetation around the site. Native grasslands can be virtually impossible to reclaim or can become a source for significant wildlife problems for wind farms. Identification of each type of plant community can allow for appropriate mitigation to be put in place to minimize costs and reduced environmental risk. Our team has over 30 years’ experience assessing plant communities including creating management plans, reclaiming native ecosystems, conducting rare plant surveys and assessing wetlands.
    • Wetland Assessments: Our team has extensive experience conducting assessments under the 2015 wetland policy in Alberta. we have successfully assessed over 100 wetlands and can help avoid issues related to wetlands through avoidance, minimization and compensation where required.
    • Reporting: Our team has extensive experience submitting regulatory reports and post construction monitoring plans. we can provide our clients with all required environmental reports and when required can work with regulators to solve problems. We provide complete environmental protection plans, reclamation plans in addition to environmental impact assessments, post construction monitoring plans and wetland reports.
    • Services During Construction: Our team can provide complete environmental services during the construction process for the construction manager. we provide detailed wildlife surveys as well as experienced reclamation personnel who can ensure that through each step all regulatory requirements are met. Failure to meet regulatory requirements in Western Canada can come at a significant cost to clients and we strive to ensure that no matter how experienced our client is in Western Canada they will meet all regulatory requirements.
    • Post Construction Monitoring: Through the post construction monitoring program we can provide all required surveys using innovative techniques to maximize searcher efficiency while ensuring consistency in adverse environmental conditions. we have completed mitigation plans for protected wildlife species, completed nest monitoring, migratory bird surveys, and mortality monitoring programs.
    • Mitigation Planning: When required we can provide innovative mitigation planning that goes beyond cut in speeds. Our team can look through the most recent scientific research and identify the most innovative methods to reduce costs while reducing mortality for each project.
