Project Name: Invasive Plant Survey of the Kennedy Coulee Ecological Reserve |
Study Area: Kennedy Coulee Ecological Reserve |
Client: Milk River Natural Area
|
Work Completed:
A comprehensive invasive species survey was conducted across the south west side of the Kennedy Coulee Ecological Reserve. All species were mapped for cover, density and distribution. Species were categorized by regulatory status. A control priority list was created for each species using regulatory status, potential to cause ecological damage, current invasion status among other factors.
A management analysis was conducted to determine potential causes driving invasion of each species. Each factor driving invasion was then taken into account to create a suitable invasive species management program able to control the current invasions while preventing future invasions from occurring.
